Alife has teamed up with Japanese fashion, culture, and design retailer And A to release the Wood Stock, a new chukka-inspired boot with interesting styling. And A is a wide ranging firm, which deals in everything from clothing to cosmetics to books and music, but thankfully the retailer shows a pretty keen eye for footwear design. There are a few notable aspects to the design, most notably the over-thick crepe sole, molded onto the upper. The upper itself is done in a nice suede, in either sand or black; each features a contrasting heel counter done in blue full-grain leather (which matches the lining, also in blue leather). Further detailing includes a line of leather punch-outs around the toe box, evocative of a brogue. A brown squared leather lace tops things off, and tips the design balance just a bit into moccasin territory, to touch on the nearly obligatory Native trend. It’s a very interesting design from the partnership; it won’t work for everyone, but the creativity is certainly appreciated. the AA Wood Stock is available for pre-order from the And A Zozo store, with a release set for mid-April. Check out shots of both colors after the jump.
